1. Extension of CCFS Scheme: In view of the capacity enhancement & restoration activities at data centre following the fire incident on 05.06.2026, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs has extended the of Companies Compliance Facilitation Scheme, 2026 (CCFS2026) until 31st August 2026.
2. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) is developing the Integrated Platform for Insolvency Ecosystem (IPIE) to unify the multiple standalone systems currently used under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (IBC). By integrating various business processes, technology systems, and digital services into a single secure framework, the platform aims to replace manual coordination with automated, end-to-end digital workflows. This initiative is designed to enhance the effectiveness of the IBC by improving operational efficiency, transparency, and accountability, thereby advancing the ease of doing business throughout the insolvency lifecycle. To ensure the platform’s comprehensive design and success, the MCA is actively seeking functional suggestions from professionals, institutions, industry bodies, and academia.
3. The due date for filing of Form DPT-3 (Return of deposits/ Exempted Deposits) for the Financial Year 2025-2026 has been extended from 30th June 2026 to 31st July 2026, without paying any additional fees.
4. Corporate Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026: It was introduced in the Lok Sabha on March 23, 2026, to comprehensively overhaul the Companies Act, 2013, and the Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) Act, 2008. According to its Statement of Objects and Reasons, the primary aim of the bill is to simplify corporate legal procedures, ease compliance burdens, and strengthen corporate governance in line with the Report of the Company Law Committee (CLC) as well as the amendments carried out in 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020 in the Companies Act, 2013.The amendments proposed in the present Bill are focused on:
- Decriminalisation of various procedural defaults under the Companies Act and the LLP Act by replacing criminal provisions with civil penalties.
- Providing relaxations related to CSR provisions and strengthen the role of the National Financial Reporting Authority to enhance corporate governance and protect investor interests.
- Introducing a new mechanism allowing certain types of Trusts to convert into LLPs to promote flexibility in fund structuring and improving ease of doing business.
Accordingly, the proposed legislation seeks to rationalize, in the interest of promoting industry, existing statutory mechanisms within the Companies Act, 2013 and the Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008, while introducing progressive, novel frameworks aligned with global best practices. The Committee, in their 25th Sitting held on 31.07.2026, considered and adopted the draft Report.
